Short answer. Enhancers are stat upgrades for the Caretaker in The Last Caretaker. The community wiki says they are bought with Enhancer Points acquired through leveling and quests, and that a maximum of 100 levels can be invested into every enhancer [S1]. Channel37 raised the level cap from 30 to 35 in Update 5.0 [S5]. A few quest rewards appear on community wikis, such as 25 points for Mother [S8].

What enhancers are

The wiki says the player can improve several aspects of the Caretaker with Enhancer Points acquired through leveling and quests [S1]. TheGamer (10 November 2025) says points are earned as you progress [S2]. TechRaptor's beginner guide (6 November 2025) treats skill points and enhancer points as two separate spends: it handles Skill Points first and then opens the "Enhancers Menu" [S16].

The wiki and TheGamer were written before Update 6.0, so treat the numbers below as the last published value, not a reading of the current build. Update 6.0 introduced no enhancer line in Channel37's notes [S6]. In a video about Update 6.0, ProRogueBear says "There's no there's no new enhancements" at [10:11] [S15].

What each enhancer does

The values below come from the community wiki page, last edited 31 May 2026, before Update 6.0 [S1]. Where another source differs, the next section covers it.

EnhancerEffect per level, as the wiki writes itSource
VitalityIncrease vitality by 1 per level, up to a total of 200 vitality[S1]
Haul MasteryIncrease maximum carry weight by 1 kg per level, up to a total of 200 kg[S1]
Improved HydraulicsIncrease lifting capacity by 1% and decrease power consumed by 1% per level[S1]
EngineeringDecrease time and power consumed by building and crafting by 0.5% per level[S1]
PressureIncrease maximum diving depth by 1 m per level, up to a total of 110 m[S1]
ScrapperDecrease time and power consumed by scrapping with the dismantle tool by 0.5% per level[S1]
Battery"Increase battery by 20 Wh per level, up to a total of 2.5 kWh"[S1]
Power ManagementDecrease base power consumption by 0.5% per level; base usage reaches 125 W at max level[S1]
Field MedicIncreases transfer speed of electricity and health by 2.5% per level[S1]
Shock AbsorberDecrease fall damage by 0.5% per level[S1]

The Pressure heading is missing from the captured wiki page, so its text sits under Engineering and Scrapper there. The name comes from Aziwrath Gaming's build guide, which says "Pressure increases pressure capacity by 1 meter" at [2:24] [S3]. The same video says Field Medic and Shock Absorber were the two new enhancements in the 0.6.0 update at [2:53] [S3]. Channel37's announcement of Update 01 (16 December 2025) lists "New enhancements & achievements" without naming them [S18]. The 0.6.0 label comes from the video alone [S3].

The wiki marks the Field Medic base speeds as needing verification, so they are left out here [S1].

How many enhancers are there

Sources give different counts. TheGamer counted eight [S2]. The Nexus Mods page for a points mod (created by LordGregory, uploaded by Synthlight, last updated 20 October 2026) describes its file as "Enough to max all 10 stats and unlock all skills" [S4]. The same page's changelog entry for game version 0.7.5.610707 says "There's now another enhancement category (11 total)" [S4].

Where the numbers disagree

  • Pressure per point. The wiki says 1 m per level [S1]. Beerman's Lounge says "we can go a max of 10" at the start and that "you would be able to go 20 and so forth" after adding 10 points at [8:03] [S14]. Nomadic wrote on the Steam forum on 9 September 2026 "you start of with 10m" and "each point is an additional 5m" [S13]. Nomadic gives the same early start as Beerman's [S13]. The step per point in that post is a single forum report that differs from the wiki and the video [S13].
  • Haul Mastery maximum. The wiki says up to 200 kg total [S1]. TheGamer (10 November 2025) says "You'll also be able to carry an extra 50 Kg of weight" [S2], while its own table lists "Increases carry weight by +1 Kg" [S2]. The maximum is unresolved.
  • Diving depth at maximum Pressure. The wiki figure is "a total of 110 m diving capacity" [S1]. On the Steam forum on 9 September 2026, Limmin wrote "Even with max pressure resistance, if you go deeper than ~120 m (if I recall correctly) you start taking damage" [S13]. The wiki describes a depth capacity and Limmin describes where damage starts from memory, so the two are not a like-for-like pair.
  • Scrapper. The wiki says dismantling [S1]. TheGamer's table also lists repairing [S2].

How enhancer points are earned

Levels

Channel37 raised the player level cap from 30 to 35 in Update 5.0 (24 June 2026) [S5]. In the Update 6.0 video, ProRogueBear says the "level cap is still level 35" at [10:14] [S15].

The Nexus Mods page for the points mod, whose author edits the curve, labels this block "the original curve": Level 1 gives 0 points, levels 2 to 4 give 10 points each, levels 5 to 9 give 15 each, levels 10 to 20 give 20 each and levels 21 to 35 give 25 each, for a total of 700 [S4]. The changelog entry for game version 0.10.0.653173 says the author "tweaked the enhancement point curve slightly so it doesn't drop below vanilla in any places anymore" [S4].

Other statements give only partial figures:

  • TheGamer (10 November 2025) says points are "awarded in sets of five" as you level [S2].
  • TechRaptor's tutorial, after reaching Level 2, says "You have 10 unused enhancer points" [S16].

The forum offers a level-25 data point. Sad Cat Is In San Francisco! wrote on 22 November 2025, at level 25, "I have 240 spare Enhancement Points" and then listed the rest as spent [S12]. Natjur wrote on 21 November 2025 about changing "the max points from 450 to 800" with an editor or mod [S12]. That was before the level cap rose to 35 [S5].

Banking points

Sad Cat Is In San Francisco! (3 December 2025) wrote "Because you can apply points whenever, I just didn't spend them until I found something that I couldn't do that more points would let me do" [S12]. This describes one player's habit. jonnydoh (4 December 2025) forgot to spend points over two level-ups and then wrote "I immediately invested 50 points into pressure and maxed it out" [S12].

Quests

Quest points are described by a Steam reviewer and a mod author. One Steam reviewer wrote that "finishing quests give you some" and that they ended up with hundreds of unspent points [S20]. The mod author wrote "+20 for the only one I checked" and "450~ give or take from all quests", so the estimate rests on one checked quest [S4]. In the Update 6.0 video, ProRogueBear says "I've got like 400 or enhancement points" that can't be put anywhere at [10:49] [S15].

The quest values below are the ones found in sources read on 21 October 2026. Channel37's Update 5.0 notes say "Updated various quest rewards" [S5], so a value from an older page may have changed.

Official achievement

The Steam achievement "Enhance, enhance, enhance.." has the description "200 player enhancement used." and was held by 45.2 percent of players in the achievement page snapshot of 21 October 2026 [S7]. The full list is on Achievements.

What players recommend

These are opinions, not rankings from Channel37. TheGamer (10 November 2025) recommends "stacking up Battery and Power Management," then Scrapper [S2]. It also says to raise diving depth to "at least 40 m" before the quest Echoes In The Grave [S2]. Purple Legacy wrote on 21 November 2025 "I got 0 points in it" about water pressure [S12]. Sad Cat Is In San Francisco! listed "Pressure: 100" on 22 November 2025 [S12], and Natjur wrote on 21 November 2025 that a place late in the game is "a pain to get to" even with max pressure [S12].
